This special technology uses laser for engraving metallic, plated, wooden and plastic promotional items. Thanks to the high quality and durable print (engraving) this technology has most nearly replaced the electrochemical etching and machine engraving.
When engraving using this method the upper surface of the material is sublimed off (in metals and plastics c. 0.03 mm, in wood, depending on hardness, the depth varies from 0.5 to 1.0 mm). On chrome and nickel-plated promotional items (pens, lighters, etc.) is created a highly contrasting engraving this way, the colour of which depends on the colour of the base material. On stainless steel objects (bottles, mugs, knives, etc.) the engraving is very decent and the colour of it is almost the same as the original colour of the stainless steel object. On thicker stainless steel objects (3mm and more) it is possible to use local hardening, in which case the colour ofengraving is dark brown to black. The colour of the laser engraving on wooden objects depends on the hardness of and annuals rings, and it is usually darker than the object itself. On plastic promotional items (calculators) the upper layer is sublimed off and the colour of the engraving tends to be black.
