Sandblasting is a technology creating a plastic logo on an item. It can be used on glass and on metal.
The principle of the technology is the blowing of sand onto the object through a special stencil, which is firmly affixed to the item (glued). There are several types of sandblasting stencils and their use varies according to the type of the sandblasted logo and the number of sandblasted items. When sandblasting the areas where the surface of the item is to remain unchanged are covered with the stencil. The depth of the relief depends on the hardness of the sandblasted object and the length of the time the stream of sand is concentrated on a particular place.
For the sandblasting of a logo onto an item two types of sand are used. Fine sand is used on smaller objects, and coarse sand for large, simple motifs.
Sandblasting is carried out, because of the large amount of sand involved, in special boxes.
